It's been a strange long four day weekend, full of surprises and who would have thought that the Pope, Will, Kate and Obama would all be mentioned in the same sentence.
It started with the bombing in Marrakesh on Thursday which no doubt had an impact on the Royal Wedding on Friday. Security was high as millions filled the London streets. The honeymoon for the newly weds was postponed. Then the Vatican City on Sunday was a magnificent sight with amazing stories of Polish people walking for days to St Peter's Square.
Today, as Brits enjoy the last day of the four day holiday, the discussion returns to terrorism and there is a glimpse of hope that terrorism has been dealt a fatal blow. Osama Bin Laden became the symbol of fear as the world's most wanted man and after 9/11 our lives changed forever, especially for those many that lost loved ones, the terror faced by them, the meaninglessness of their tragic death. Traveling overseas lost some of its shine with tightened security checks, liquid restrictions to our luggage and nerves on the plane which we never felt before. Now he is dead, Osama Bin Laden is dead and we want to shout hurrah - we rejoice in retribution for all the pain and death that he has caused.
They say we have to be aware that there may be retaliation and there may be more terrorist attacks in Osama Bin Laden's name. We need to stay vigilant, which means that a bag left on the tube will cause severe disruption and we still wonder when we see a shady character carrying a fitness first backpack.
It has been a wonderful four day weekend full of history in the making - the beginning for Will and Kate with a new era for the Royals, the end for Osama Bin Laden and the exhumation of the late Pope John Paul II's body.
