This Saturday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding will be held at Windsor. Like any couple, they will want the day to go smoothly. It is a day to celebrate - for them, their friends, family, the country and the world.
When I saw the couple's BBC interview which I've included in this post, it was beautiful to see the love they shared.
Reading about them made me happy. The mood of the country changed with their news. We were going to have a wedding. There was something for all of us to be positive about and look forward to.
As with all weddings, there are dramas. Unfortunately for this couple, they are under intense scrutiny and every one knows your business or wants to know your business.
They may not be an ordinary couple but like an ordinary couple, they just want to be happy, and healthy. The bride wants to look beautiful on her big day. The couple will be watching the weather forecast. They await the arrival of guests who are flying in. They are packing bags and working on speeches. It's a big deal. It's a big day.
When Princess Diana passed away, it brought us great sadness. We mourned her loss and felt the injustice for two young boys who had lost their mother. This week we will cheer as her youngest son has fallen in love, marries and will soon start a family of his own.
I had so much fun on the day of William and Kate's wedding. I managed to see them in the carriage and on the balcony. I was so excited that I included several photoes and wrote several blog posts about the day. I'm looking forward to Saturday and watching it on television along with millions of others around the world.
In these times when there is so much negativity and terrible news events unfolding, let's be proud and pleased that there is this day of celebration and love. Wishing the lovely Prince Harry and Meghan Markle much beauty, health and happiness on their wedding day and in their life together.
