Thin slices of bread can become thick slices by lowering the heat intensity, then toasting them together and flipping them inside out in the second toasting, or if you prefer it fluffy on the inside, then skip the flip.
Get creative in the kitchen. Cut the crusts or slice your bread into a different shape for some variety. Eating is a visual experience too. And what can you do with the texture? Try different brands of bread, mix and match - 1/2 white and 1/2 wholemeal in your sandwich.
Dip your toast in egg and pan fry it for a simple version of french toast. Or pan fry or grill it with herbs and spices. Crush your favourite nut and sprinkle it on top. Buy a different spread, splurge on a brand that is a little more expensive to see what the difference is. Small changes can really stimulate the taste buds.
And mid week breakfast can be pleasurable too. Wrap it in foil and eat on the run. Bread is a cheap staple that you can experiment with and make the mundane infinitely more exciting.
