Great weekend brunch idea - decadent peanut and chocolate french toast
Do some yoga or go for a run first because this is evil. It's peanut millionaire shortbread meets french toast. Inspired by then Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate brunch edition, which featured New York's Norma's, you won't look glamorous with chocolate sauce all over your face but you'll have a massive smile.
Dip thick slices of wholemeal bread into cream and egg and fry in french butter. Sandwich sliced fresh strawberries and bananas. Drizzle a peanut butter caramel sauce made from condensed milk, glucose syrup and your favourite smooth peanut butter. Top with chocolate sauce made from melted dark chocolate and a dollop of double cream. Add maple syrup on the side.
Some other great add ons - streaky bacon on the side, lashings of cream or ice-cream, sprinkle crushed hazelnut, shortbread, crumbled red velvet cupcake, or white chocolate shavings.
Indulge in this decadent peanut and chocolate french toast , because it's the weekend and you deserve it.
