Food for Thought - The Worst Job in the World

We grumble about work. We wish that we didn't have to go. Sunday night is dread time. Monday is so long. But I do often wonder what is the worst job in the world?

Londoners and visitors to this great city are spoiled for choice when it comes to tourist attractions and the dilemma is what to do, where to go and what are the best places, especially if you are limited by time. So we put the attractions in the ring to battle it out to see some of the best places in London.

Part 1 of Special Prince William and Kate Middleton London Royal Wedding.

For the million people that wanted to be a part of the Royal Wedding and wait along the route to Westminster Abbey, it was an early start whether you were woken up by your alarm or Big Ben because you were sleeping on the street. My thoughts turned to Kate in these wee hours of the morning who was likely with hair and makeup artists.

The Night Before
Prince William had made an impromptu appearance and gone out to chat with people outside Clarence House. His PR team apparently were disappointed as if they had known they would have invited more of the media.

The Big Wait
There were kids in costume, with crowns, signs and flags. Some people wore face masks of Will, Kate and other members of the royal family. There was so much anticipation. Android  phones had sketchy reception so we didn't have access to the news. Fortunately someone had a radio and could tell us when someone was approaching. When the cars and buses started coming along the mall, everyone cheered, waved flags and snapped photographs. They came and went quickly. Time flew and it was exciting with first William and Harry, Charles and Camilla, the Queen and Prince Phillip and finally Kate. The black horses were beautiful, the bands playing made it even more festive.  It was cold that morning and our legs were stiff from standing too.

A strange long weekend - Royal Wedding, Pope Beatification and Osama Bin Laden dies

It's been a strange long four day weekend, full of surprises and who would have thought that the Pope, Will, Kate and Obama would all be mentioned in the same sentence.

It started with the bombing in Marrakesh on Thursday which no doubt had an impact on the Royal Wedding on Friday. Security was high as millions filled the London streets. The honeymoon for the newly weds was postponed. Then the Vatican City on Sunday was a magnificent sight with amazing stories of Polish people walking for days to St Peter's Square.
