Top 5 Tips to Get Started on Weight Loss

If you need to start losing weight but don't have the time, try any of these simple tips to get the ball rolling:

  1. Wake up early and do 30 minutes of exercise before breakfast - either walking, running, an exercise DVD or hit the gym. You burn fat first thing in the morning.
  2. Switch to healthy snacks - buy nuts, crackers and fruit and keep them close by.
  3. Have vegetables for dinner tonight - a salad or you can steam, bake or roast your vegies, but no pasta, bread, rice or meat. How many fat vegetarians do you know?
  4. Organise to do something active tonight or this weekend - salsa, an aerobics class, walking or any sports with friends, your partner or go alone and meet new people.
  5. Buy grapefruit - have it with your water or add it to a salad. It has negative calories.
Pat yourself on the back because you've done one of the most difficult things, which is getting started. See how you feel afterward and if it feels good, then try it again (but remember everything in moderation) or try one of the other tips.

Read Vegetables Vitamin Boost for more ideas or learn about Detox (it can change your life!)or Smart Exercising. oprah.com also has some handy information.

Weight loss is about taking one step at a time, but it won't happen if you don't get started.

  2. Grapefruit is really good for you. It used to be a popular diet in the 80s and lots of celebrities still use it as part of their diet. Some of them have grapefruit before every meal! I'm not sure about doing that though since every thing should be in moderation.
