Natural Hair Treatments

  • Olive oil, avocado oil and almond oil are great to give your hair a healthy boost. Leave it in like a treatment for 10 minutes.
  • Apple cider vinegar - leave it in for 10 minutes under a shower cap to reduce oil and hair feels squeaky clean after.
  • Cold water- rinse hair in cold water after your shower / bath. Your hair will have more body and shape.
  • TIP - Use a shower cap after applying your conditioner but before you wash it out. The heat helps it absorb better.

Garlic

The Advantages of Garlic
  • It has more than 12 types of anti-oxidants.  When crushed, the allicin is like a powerful antibiotic and has an anti-fungal compound.
  • And it doesn't lose its medicinal properties with cooking.
  • A home remedy to cure for colds and flus. Add it to soups and your cooking.

Detox - What's it all about?

There are numerous detox solutions in the market, such as the latest hollywood fad of izocleanze, colonics and detox getaways which are uber expensive. We can incorporate it into our lives cheaply and simply. It's a great diet, beauty boost and mood enhancer too!

Pamper yourself - beauty home spas

One of the best ways to pamper yourself is to take a hot bath. I think it might be Reese Witherspoon who said that it was her beauty secret to great skin.

Vegetables vitamin boost

Vegetables can be a challenge, especially if you don't love them. They are an important part of your diet, boost your immune system, lifts your mood and provides a natural cleanse.

Here are some ideas to encourage you to eat more of them:
  1. Buy a blender if you don't already have one and make yourself a fresh juice.
  2. Pick your three favourite vegies and look for new and interesting recipes.
  3. Book a detox / vegetarian retreat - it can give you ideas on how you might work on your diet and cook.
  4. Go vegetarian for a day or more (if you can manage it). It's a healthy cleanse for your body.
  5. Make a point to have a salad for lunch - add your favourite fish, seafood or meat to go with it. If I'm having a cold salad, I trick my body to think it's having a warm meal by having some soup or tea.
You can enjoy eating healthy. Give it a go.

Day dream

Do you remember the last time you were day dreaming?

Show me the Money!

Yesterday in my blog on Holiday Blues and Winter Warmers - Tips and Tricks, I wrote briefly about happiness. It's often said that money can't buy happiness, but when you're rolling in cash, it sure doesn't hurt, right?

The Winters are getting colder and colder. The secrets to happiness in winter is staying warm and brightening up these grey days.

Christmas Presents - It's a kids world

They say Christmas is about the kids. And I have to say that buying gifts for them can be tremendous fun. But at the same time with the stress of the holiday period, it can be very tricky. It's hard to keep up with fads, what's in, what's not.

Recipes Sweet Treats - It's time to be bad, very very bad.

Cooking can be very pleasurable, and allows you to exercise your creative muscles.

Millionaire Shortbread
I made mine with some Walkers shortbread, added the caramel filling and dark chocolate. Voila - decadence on a plate.

Cheating may be a big no no when it comes to love, but when you're dieting, it's a way of life.

Passion, pleasure and peace

Reading is my religion, great writers are my God, their novels are my bible. What are you passionate about?

One of the questions I ask people is whether they enjoy their job. Most of the time, the answer is no. We spend so much time at work and it is a big part of our life. We see our colleagues more than we see our family and friends.

It's worth taking some time, thinking about the things you like to do, the things you used to love, that you never get tire of, that your face lights up when you talk about it. We need to nurture our passions. It's about loving ourselves, investing in our desires.

If money and time was not an obstacle, what would you do, how would you spend your time?

The next step is then to come up with a plan. How will you spend more time doing what you love? It takes planning, prioritising, not procrastinating, not being afraid to try it, enrolling in a course, talking to someone, moving in that direction and going down that road.
