Cheryl Cole was the Queen of Hearts, ruling Britain's Saturday night television on Simon Cowell's X Factor. We just loved checking out her hair styles and outfits. She was the sweet girl who told the public what they wanted to hear. Then she was looking to conquer the US but was very publicly dumped because her accent was too hard to understand. The mags and tabloids were forgetting about Cheryl as the public's obsession with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge grew.
But Cheryl Cole is back grabbing headlines with rumours she has hooked up with ex-husband, cheating Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole. There were rumours she was dating US Dancing With the Stars Derek Hough. It's her lovelife more than her music (solo or with Girls Aloud) which seems to capture the public's attention. There were suggestions that will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas was sweet on our Cheryl. And when they performed their duet in London during the BEP concert, he did a convincing impersonation of a man with a serious crush. But nothing seemed to come of it. Cheryl just didn't seem attracted to him.Or is there merit to Perez Hilton's comments about will.i.am's sexuality?
Cheryl Cole has come along way since she was Cheryl Tweedy in the little British girl band. So why is she back with Ashley, if in fact she is? Publicity? Or is she going back to him to lick her wounds? Or is it simply, you can't help who you love, even if they cheat on you and treat you like ****?
What will become of Cheryl Cole? We love an underdog, and no doubt she will rise again, with or without the US X Factor, Ashley Cole or will.i.am.
